Investhouse Ci Balanced comment - Dec 19

The Investhouse Ci Balanced fund lagged slightly in December. The Direct Equity component managed to slightly outperform the JSE All Share Index which contributed to returns. The Direct property allocation within the portfolio had a slightly positive month while the S&P SA REIT Index was down 2.7%. The allocation to the Abax Balanced Prescient fund contributed significantly to returns (as the fund outperformed its peers by more than 1%). The allocation to the Global fund detracted slightly as a result of the fund’s underperformance relative to the MSCI World combined with a strengthening Rand.
  • Fund focus and objective  
The objective of this multi asset portfolio is to provide investors with moderate capital growth. The portfolio aims to generate a return of CPI for all urban areas + 5% per annum over any rolling 5 year period and is aimed at the high risk investor as it is limited to a maximum of 75% exposure to equities . The portfolio adheres to the guidelines set by Regulation 28.
